Terms
These terms cover the public instance at hardcover.benjuntilla.com, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server run by Ben Juntilla. If you run your own copy, edit this file; it’s what your deployment shows at /terms. The source code is under the MIT license; these terms are about the hosted service. The privacy notice says what it stores.
Using the service
- It’s free for anyone with a Hardcover account. Connecting an MCP client to it means you accept these terms.
- Use it with your own Hardcover account, for your own reading. Don’t try to get around the service’s rate limits, overload it or Hardcover, or use it to break Hardcover’s terms of service.
- Security research is welcome within the security policy. Report vulnerabilities privately, as it describes.
- The operator may limit, block, or revoke access at any time, for example to stop abuse.
What your client does
- The server acts in Hardcover as you, with the permissions you approved, whenever your MCP client asks it to.
- You’re responsible for what your client, and any AI model using it, does with your account. Changes are real, and you can’t undo some of them. Removing a book from your library also deletes its rating, review, and reading history. Deleting a list, goal, or journal entry is permanent.
- Grant only the permissions you need. Disconnect any time from Hardcover under Account → API → Authorized apps.
No warranty
The operator provides the service as is, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, have bugs, change, or shut down without notice. As far as the law allows, the operator isn’t liable for any loss or damage from using it (including lost or changed Hardcover data).
Not affiliated with Hardcover
This is an independent project, not made, endorsed, or supported by Hardcover. Hardcover’s own terms of service and policies still apply to your account.
Changes
These terms may change. This page always has the current version, and the repository keeps the history.
